About Us

Founded on April 1, 2008, Tap Fever Studios is a non-profit organization that has dance opportunities for all ages and levels!  With an array of classes that complement our focus on tap dance, people from all walks of life learn how to mobilize the rhythm from their hearts.  Students are offered a strong foundation through fun & dynamic classes that accelerate basic skills into fantastic moves.  All the major disciplines are represented: tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, acro, and even fitness classes!

Location

Our first dance space was in the basement suite of 7301 Girard Street in La Jolla.  Due to circulation issues with the space, we relocated down the road to 5628 La Jolla Boulevard in Bird Rock.  We stayed there for about 3½ years, then found a larger home at 683 Turquoise Street. Our 2½ year stay on Turquoise Street was great, but parking challenges and accessibility from the freeway pushed us to try another big move.  The next 4½ years were spent at 2180 Garnet Avenue #1F in Pacific Beach, which is very close to the freeway, and had ample parking! In July 2019 we moved right next door to 2146 Garnet Avenue. This is the coolest space ever! We converted a house into a dance studio, and it feels incredible being in this amazing space. We’re still close to the freeway, have great parking, and we’ve got a super long lease, so expect to see Tap Fever Studios in Pacific Beach for a very long time!

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we grant dance scholarships, offer accessible dance classes, and have built a strong bond with our community.  We want to make sure that everyone who has the desire to dance is given an opportunity. Contributions to Tap Fever Studios go toward the expansion of our special programs and outreach.
