Dance Teams ⋆ Performances, Shows, Competitions ⋆ Tap Fever Studios

As a way to encourage dancers to try their best, learn how to support each other, and to learn the critical aspects of their art, we have our teams of skilled dancers participate in dance competitions. To engage these dancers with our neighbors, we also have the teams perform at community events, senior living facilities, and for military events. You may also see these dancers perform at Disneyland, and National Tap Dance Day events!

Captain: Larisa Hall
This is a dance team for our golden tappers, ages 55+. The audition is informal, but a minimum of 2 years tap dance experience is required. Inquire directly with Larisa if you are interested in joining this team.

Captain: Dani Behrens
This is a Broadway style tap team, with some rhythm tap mixed in. The audition is informal. Dancers will learn a short piece of choreography to assess their technical ability and choreography retention. The level of this team is intermediate-advanced.

This juniors team rotates between contemporary, jazz, and tap. *You need to be proficient in at least 2 of these disciplines. For the audition, dancers will learn 2 eight counts of choreography (in all 3 styles) to perform for judges, as well as :30 of original choreography (in any style).

Being a dancer on the Dance Team is an honor. The dancers are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsman-like manner both on and off the dancefloor. The dancers are expected to be role models for all of their fellow students. Each dancer should dress appropriately at all times. With dedication and determination, these Dance Teams can accomplish great things while representing Tap Fever Studios.

Team Rules

• Team members must be enrolled in at least 1 other dance class at Tap Fever for the full session.
• Dancers must maintain 90% attendance in classes.
• For missed classes/rehearsals, ½-hour private lessons [$35] should be scheduled ASAP.
• Members that exit the team either by choice, or due to insufficient attendance will be charged a re-blocking fee [$35]. *This fee is applied because the team captain will have to schedule an additional rehearsal for the team in order to re-block the choreography.
