National Tap Dance Day is Saturday, May 25th! Join us from 4:00pm-6:30pm at the World Beat Cultural Center in Balboa Park for fantastic tap classes & performances. Check-in beginning at 3:30pm. The first event will start promptly at 4pm.

WHY: Celebrating Tap dance & the legendary “Bill “Bojangles” Robinson
Any volunteers needed? YES! Please call/text (858) 456-7301
Do I need to bring a tap board? No
Should I bring my tap shoes? Yes, but you can come even if you don’t have any
Where do I park? On the street, or in the lot across the street
Is There Food? Yes, the cafe is open and food/beverages can be purchased
What Is The Jam? The jam is an open dance session where everyone can get up and dance to live music, watch performers, and be part of the party. Anyone who would like to take a turn can come up and improv, alone or with a group, to live music.

5:05-5:15 PM Performances: CA Rhythm Project & Seaside Arts Dance
5:15-5:35 PM Class: Bojangles Chair Dance
5:35-5:45 PM Class: Shim Sham/BS review
5:45-5:50 PM Performance: Shim Sham Shimmy + BS Chorus
5:50-6:30 PM Tap Jam with Hot Club of Bird Park live music!
6:30-6:45 PM clean up & exit
