Board President
Kariann Medina
★ Joined Tap Fever Studios Board of Directors August 2013 ★
Kariann Medina, a native San Diegan, has more than two decades of experience in arts management. Her career began at the La Jolla Symphony Orchestra and Chorus Association while she was a student at UCSD. From there her love of the arts and her degree in Art History and Literature/Writing, took her to the San Diego Symphony, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, the Southern California Institute of Architecture and the Denver Museum of Art. Her positions at these organizations included everything from Assistant Director of Development to Director of Marketing. In 2007, Ms. Medina helped launch the Tempe Center for the Arts, in Tempe, Arizona; coordinating more than 400 hundred performers on seven stages for the grand opening events. Most recently, Ms. Medina worked with Broadway Across America at ASU’s Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, Arizona. As Marketing and Public Relations Director for first-run touring Broadway productions, Ms. Medina worked with the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, The Producers, Mamma Mia!, Les Miserables and Disney’s Lion King to name a few. In addition, Ms Medina helped to develop ASU’s Gammage Auditorium Beyond Broadway series which included performances by Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance and others. Upon returning to San Diego to care for her ailing mother in 2009, Ms Medina enrolled her young daughter in ballet and tap classes at Tap Fever. Now some years later, her daughter loves to dance and continues classes at Tap Fever. Ms. Medina is excited to join the board and help Tap Fever grow and flourish.

Bethany Wilk

Bethany Wilk has been working in digital marketing, event management and non-profit development since 2006. As the owner of KB Creative Content, she provides services such as SEO optimization, branding, and digital content. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a degree in English and a certificate in website design/development. Bethany assists with fundraising and grant-writing for Tap Fever Studios.

Jennifer Park

Jennifer loves the art of dance, and is thrilled to share her skills and education with this non-profit dance organization. Jennifer has moved over 30 times but has spent most of her life in Southern California. While stateside, she earned a B.A. in Communications and a B.A. in American Studies & Ethnicity at USC and an M.S. Ed. in Higher Education at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia). During her years working in Japan, she headed an international team of 20 members to advocate for the 5000+ participants of the largest international exchange program of its kind, provide professional development and resources, and provide research on emerging trends and issues in education to the Japanese ministries. In the U.S.A., Jennifer has worked in recruitment and admissions for two private US universities and student and foundation/program development for a public university in Los Angeles. During 10 years of education administration, Jennifer has practiced mission-driven work through creative relationship-building with education, corporate and government organizations.
Jennifer goes by “Jen” and enjoys word play, puns, Scrabble, aerial arts, community events, and playing with dogs.

John Spence

John is currently an active member of the US Navy. He has brought us many volunteers from his command to help with our performances, and has been able to help promote our events (and sell tickets) to people with whom he works. John’s experience prior to the military was as a Regional Manager for Wal-Mart. He has exceptional skill as a leader, a mentor, and motivator. As a new dancer himself, John has grown to love tap and hip-hop, and is inspired by Tap Fever’s mission.

Larisa Hall

Larisa has degrees in Television and Radio Production and has worked in many areas of both fields from 1997 to 2008. Larisa’s most recent television work was as a Segment Producer with KUSI NEWS in San Diego. This background in performing arts affords her the experience and knowledge to manage Tap Fever Studios and its performances. Larisa’s primary goal with Tap Fever is to ensure anyone who wants to dance has the opportunity to do so.
HR Advisor
Sarah Freeman-Hall

Sarah is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) with a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech. She also sits on the board of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as Secretary for the San Diego chapter. Sarah specializes in the areas of employment law and compliance, recruitment, training and development, benefits, workers’ compensation, payroll, and employee relations. Sarah’s current employment as a Human Resources Generalist with Proven Recruiting began in 2007. During her tenure with Proven Recruiting, Sarah has designed policies and procedures, organized and lead meetings and trainings, and recorded minutes. Her vast knowledge of workplace protocol, and attention to detail makes her an exceptional asset to our Board.

Alyssa Ehrlich

Alyssa Kay Ehrlich is an active member of the California Bar and was admitted 20th December 2007. She received her JD from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelors from the University of Arizona. Through many years of experience in business litigation, and business formation, Alyssa has been an incredible asset to Tap Fever Studios.
